The cartridge slot on the Genesis 1, 2, and CDX is different from that of the Japanese Megadrive. While most of us probably just boot up an emulator to try those MegaDrive games that were never released in our native countries, there are sure to be some retro gamers that insist on playing the real cartridges on the real machine. B fires to the left and A fires to the right, so you have multi direction firing at all times.Playing Sega Genesis/MegaDrive Imports With Game Genie Continues put you back at the beginning of the section you were in when you lose your last life, but watch out - losing all your energy not only takes away a life, but you get sent back to the beginning of the level, which can be a very long trip back if you have gotten far! There are 4 levels to the game, and the arcade game is VERY different from its NES counterpart! I do remember you have sub weapons that you keep with you until you use them, and you use them by pressing A + B together to arm the weapon, then A or B to fire it. If you get hit with a projectile you lose one energy unit, and if you touch an enemy, you lose a life and lose 5 energy units. I think you might lose power ups when you die, but I can tell you this - you have an energy meter, but it doesn’t necessarily tell you how much damage you an take before you die.
